Menopause Yoga in South Liverpool
It’s estimated that there are around 13 million people who are currently peri or menopausal in the UK (Wellbeing of Women) which is equivalent to a third of the entire UK female population.
The menopause is a natural physiological event that happens to all women. In the UK, the average age that a woman experiences menopause is 51 years but some women may enter menopause at an earlier stage.
The ‘perimenopause’ is the phase leading up to the menopause when a woman’s hormone balance starts to change. For some people, this can start as early as their twenties or as late as their late forties.
There are at least 30 or more physical and psychological symptoms that have been linked to menopause and the list seems to be growing. What symptoms we experience and for how long, is unique to us as individuals.
Yoga for Menopause Classes
While yoga isn’t a magic pill for the many menopause symptoms we might experience, it is a holistic mind-body-soul practice that can help create hormonal and emotional balance.
Menopause Yoga offers us therapeutic tools and techniques that we can take with us through perimenopause and into our Second Spring.
Above all else though, it creates a space for self-kindness and compassion. A space where we can connect with others on the same path, and embrace and accept our changing bodies, brains and emotions and feel lighter, and more joyful as we step into what is ultimately a new beginning.
